They work like on the ST. However $ffff820d can also be written on STe, just keep in mind it needs to be set last of the bytes.
You can also write to the screen address counter registers on STe - these are read and set immediately (or at least at the next hbl, not entierly sure there). Eg, $ffff8205, $ffff8207 and $ffff8209
