Reading them should only be a matter of accessing the right signals, which is no big deal really. I'll just check my hardware docs.
Question is - is there any risk of short circuit (i.e. if some app switch the parallel port to output mode, what happens when I move the stick? Is this port short circuit proof? Maybe I'm paranoid.
