One question: you mentioned that you want multiply signed 16.16*16.16.
How many bits are really used in your case?
There is nice trick on XE, which maybe can be used by you: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/78839-russian-multiplication/?p=975865
Disadvantage is, that you need table with size 16.16+16.16. But maybe you can reduce used bits or you can split to 16*16 muls.
This routine as I know was invented originally on C64.
