Re: EtherNAT does fit
Posted by: Falcon060 Mar,26.2007-04:00

Hello all,
I am seeing results of what people are getting for speeds from the EtherNAT. I have to say that 80-200KB/sec is not that impressive. I get that much from my EtherNEC. When I seen 10/100mbit ethernet connection I was expecting 5-8 megabytes per second transfers. Both uploading and downloading. So what is the issue here??? Drivers, type of FTP being used, lack of tweaking setups?? All of the above or none of the above and could just be hardware limitation. Has anyone experimented with MagicNet?? That is what I am currently using and the way it sounded not to long ago there was NO MagicNet driver. Which stinks because this was not told to anyone when purchasing this unit. Unfortnately now I have purchased two of these units and I have to try and get some major speed out of this card to justify owning it. Can the magicnet driver be as simple as changing the MintNet driver from .xif to mif?? Any feedback on this issue would be appreciated and also anyone elses numbers on internet upload and download speeds as well as FTP upload and download numbers on a local network would be appreciated. I have an 8 mbit/sec internet connection and need to start getting the most out of my internet connection with respects to my Atari Falcon and was certianly hoping that the EtherNAT was the solution to my problems.

Thanks for any information current EtherNAT owners could provide.
