A bit of trivia now,
"Protect and Survive" was the title of a real-life document, which was mailed to householders in the UK in the 1980's by the government.
This was supposed to provide tips for survival of a nuclear war, with people making improvised shelters out of kitchen doors, and painting them white or something. That was the sum total of the money they were willing to spend on civil defence ;-)
It is believed that distribution of this unfortunately named pamphlet was the single biggest contribution to the rise of the anti-nuclear campaigns at that time ;-)
