If my memory serves me correct (and I think it does), Patrice Mandin once coded a cool conversion of SF2 for STE/FALCON. It was very good (I think it did some fx that the Neogeo version did, like "parallax scrolling" of the ground. He released the sources for the whole game.

So, if you are feeling up to the task of converting the gfx and understanding 100s of lines of asm code by a french coder, visit his site. It could be what you're after!
