Mmm, im pretty sure FFE on the PC was written using x86 Asm...
but....
apparently DB is excellent at converting code, he wrote elite 2 on the ST first :))
even on the PC you would never get the speed in C on a 486/66mhz, which is the machine FFE was designed for.
