Maybe it was a badly coded routine, ill have a look at it in the next couple of days, thanks for the heads up though!!
I may have inadvertently added an older subrout code for the STE mod playing which would explain what is happening. damned ST's and their default dates and times... i have two routines that are very similar, written on differing dates on the PC but now they both say 1987 lol ffs :P
