Wow, this is a great project that could bring atari to life. What we need is developer suport to port useful programs to it and make it a viable alternative to Apple Mac OS, Windows, Linux, and the new Amiga operating system. This can kill all of them *IF* we have the following:
- Porting of browser such as Firefox and Chrome, WITH FLASH SUPPORT to enable web 2.0 technologies and games. Many new ways of working will be in the web browser with google documents, and browser based games. Even quake and lemmings have been implemented in browsers.
- Porting of IRC, Yahoo and MSN clients
- An appstore similar to iPhone or Ubuntu applications market that allows people to easily install appliactions without hassles and of good quality, no spyware and viruses
- Porting of MAME emulator, because it will be too much effort to port PC games to this new computer, so if you port an emulator you have instant access to lots of games
- Porting also of PLAYSTATION and N64 emulator, and distributing 5 good games with the OS, such as Gran Turismo, Mario 64, Mario Kart, Tomb Raider, and Wipeout 97. Hide the emulator so these are just icons on the desktop which the user selects to run the game, they won't even know its emulated
- Having said that, it should also have native games ported, a small selection reduce effort such as Quake, Quake Wars, S.T.A.L.K.E.R if we have the processing and graphics card power (see more on point below)
- FPGA could have full Voodoo 2 emulated inside it. This is to allow games taht use direct X to be ported with less effort
- FPGA should also have "Amiga compatibility mode" implemented in the hardware so that old Amiga500 and OCS/ ECS 1200 games and applications can be run.
- Productivity. Productivity is important to any new platform, and the old Atari and TOS word processors and database is not good enough. Papyrus is good enough for DTP, but for the rest we need to port OPEN OFFICE for full quality word processor, spreadsheet, and drawing programs
- Of course, this machine should be 100% compatible with Atari ST, STE, TT, Falcon. Atari 8 bit compatibility through software emulation.

What's the anti-troll code? That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
