believe me, it works ;-)
you need to do following: set 25 MHz Videl res for RGB, concretely for 320x200/256 colours.
Reboot.
Switch to 256 colours in your desktop. In case you see your favorite wide screen -- you win, Silkcut will use it, too.
If not -- you didn't setup it correctly ;)
