Oddly enough, 2.5" SCSI have become rather usual the last few years in the server world, especially in HP Proliant machines. It's because you can get a 6-disk raid5 in a 1U server that way - small footprint with high speed and reliability.
The problems are mainly that they are a bit expensive, about 160 euro for 36GB and they use a SCA connector.
