Here is a small report from the St Lars c64 meeting held in the south of Sweden in Lund this weekend. The party was located in the technical university of Lund's student pub called Lophtet, which turned out to be the perfect party place for the audience. The number of participants was about 40 people,
almost exclusively from the c64 scene. The creativity was surprisingly high, with a great share of genuine hardware present as opposed to the usual laptop festivals.
In the true spirit of the Big Floppy People Party, this meeting also turned out to be the real hardcore event for only the very experienced data haxxors... Alot of beer, coding, booze, and composing was seen, and the party fellows seemed to have a great time in the usual mess of empty cans, flickering screens and oversized floppy disks. The only /|\ present at the party, the DHS STe, was connected to the projector
and a session of ST(e) demos was shown on the bigscreen to the big amusement of the curious data people.
The technical level of the biscreen and PA equipment was the usual c64 dudes lofi, with a home brew projector screen and humming audio connectors. Other facilities such as showers or public refreshments were nonexistant. The organizers were however really friendly and the attitude in general was very pleasant.
