Well as great as Mac's are, they still have to rely on the same basic components as PC's. Did you think about looking at Time Machine, Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper as a backup solution? CCC and SD can offer an instant recover (you just use the backup as your startup disk), and Time Machine can restore from the Leopard DVD.

BTW - I have you in my ICQ list still, but I never see you online. Things will change when I move closer to your TZ ;-)
