ports of demos
Posted by: evil Apr,02.2008-13:15

Hello,

there have been a lot of ports for games and emulators, but very few (if any?) port of open source demos.

Have anyone thought of porting any? I am myself far too crappy C/C++-programmer to make any serious attempts at this.

Some nice examples which uses SDL:

1. Planet Hively
A music demo built on the softsynth of Hively Tracker (Amiga PPC-application)

The effects doesn't seem all that impossible to run on our 060's. The question is if the softsynth can make it? There are litterary dozens of ports made, even to system which seemingly is about as powerful as a 100 MHz CT60.

2. Stercus Accidic

A nice demo by FIT. It runs on Amiga 060 hardware (but as I understood with some custom routines). There are a lot of ports for this one as well. I know that PeP tried to port it but got stuck somewhere?

I can help hosting eventual ports if anyone is interested to give it a try. :)
