Well developers are often interested in having ppl beta test stuff for them so I'd suggest you ask about that on the HighWire forum.
I don't compile CVS stuff myself either (not interested in installing various GCC tools when I am not coding in that language myself), from my POV that is the task of developers. And Ralph is often very helpful in supplying binaries to test! ;)
