Well, first off, if you use the latest software from Anodyne: Extendos, CD-Writer, CD-Backup then a CD-ROM is a thing of the past. What I did was to purchase the little hardware item from Wizztronics to split the IDE bus (can't remember what that is called) and add an IDE DVD-RW drive. Now I can back up to DVD and read DVD, which is much better than CD-R(W). Of course, it is backwards compatible with CD media. HD-Driver and Anodyne is the way to go if you are serious. Just my two cents.
