Well that's not exactly the case.
Most routers manufacturers that I have come across are pretty sensible, in that they only use a basic HTML interface that sticks to the standards, and use no client side stuff like java, javascript, activex (ewww!), etc. However, in the windows dominated world there are always some muppets who think that they are clever, and so they break the rules.
