I haven't tried it myself, but Sting stuff should work in mintnet if using GlueSTiK (which is a stik/sting<>mintnet gateway).

Regarding mintnet - hang in there. It's supposed to work, and when it does, it's rock solid.

When you edit config files in mint, make sure to use Qed or some other editor which can save the file in unix (LF) format. TOS/Windows (CRLF) format might screw things up.
