So the answer is mono only. My guess is that it's only sound from the PSG, and not from the DAC's, but I never tried it, and I doubt anyone else has either considering that everyone has had a headphone socket on the back.
If you are capable of making an adapter then you are capable of fixing the original problem, which is re-soldering the headphone socket on the mainboard.
