NO it didn't work, Joe. You didn't connect your ST to the component video, because SCART doesn't HAVE component video. It has COMPOSITE and Analog RGB. You CAN connect your ST to those inputs if you wire the connector properly.
Component video is closer in theory to SVIDEO. It's properly called Y'PbPr. Physically it's three plugs/sockets, stupidly colour coded RED GREEN and BLUE, but they should have been coded PINK PURPLE and MAROON for all the relevance it has to the actual signals.
