The TGA picture is gone since long. There is now X number of bytes where you can put your own code.
I have made a picture displayer that I use myself for a personlized bootup screen, but it doesn't do anything more than that.
I also did a 3D-screen at bootup, but trust me it's only annoying in the long run.
To code for the flash is rather boring as well as the code has to run from ROM and there is no fastram available to speed up. So it's quite boring to code stuff for the boot, but it is possible. I used the setup code by Creature/TSCC, I don't know if he have uploaded it anywhere public yet.
