CT60 and PSU choice
Posted by: cruzito Aug,20.2006-01:35

Hello all, I have some information that could be of some interest to those who bought 060 rev 6. after CT60...(year ago)...
I had many fine tuning with ctcm and it was stable @80-85 MHz...There was no way to get it @ 100 MHz...
And now the curious part: a freind of mine lended me his Tagan 330 W PSU and I tested it with CT60 and with it 060 was able to run @95-97 MHz, even 100 MHz for a half an hour...(!)
The PSU I have used from the beginning with CT60 was ordinary (new=20EUR) Codegen ATX 300 W PSU with 8A 3.3V....
So, I ended buying me a fancy Enermax Liberty 400 W PSU and now CT60 works rock stable @ 95 MHz...
I don't think that Codegen was faulty since I bought it new, but I guess it had poor voltage response and stability - it seems to me that overclocked 060 needs strong and stable voltage source...
