In short, fVDI/Eclipse works on the CT60, but only without the accompanying PCI-BIOS.
This is because the PCI-BIOS was written for '030 CPU's and to work together with the AB040 Toolkit software. There is no support at this time for the '060.
It probably wouldn't be very difficult to get it working on the '060, but I don't expect to find the time for that myself (I would have if I intended to use the Eclipse on my CT60, but I'm waiting for the CT-PCI there instead).
Anyway, running without the PCI-BIOS works, and you can try it out on a non-CT60 Falcon, to see what it's like.
The main difference is that the current driver is incapable of blitting from the screen to RAM without the PCI-BIOS. This is not really as bad as it may sound, since a properly set up fVDI/Eclipse will cache most such blits on the card, anyway, for significant speed improvements.
It would be possible to implement a screen to RAM blit without the PCI-BIOS, of course. The problem is "only" that PCI memory is banked (256 kbyte at a time, IIRC), so the blit routine would need to either switch banks at appropriate places during the blit, or use a temporary buffer in graphics RAM to make the blit in pieces.
With only one or two people using CT60/Eclipse, supporting that setup further is not a high priority for me. But I could certainly help out if someone wants to do something about it himself.
The only work I've done on the Eclipse/RageII driver recently is an attempt to support a few more variants of RageII cards. Next, I'd like to look into supporting the recently introduced anti-aliased vector font output (only working under ARAnyM now), but it may be that the RageII simply can't do that (well, it's obviously possible to do it in software, but it would be horribly slow).

What's the anti-troll code? That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
