I'll say it first. I'm an ignoramus who donsn't know what he's doing! OK, I'm trying to get my CT60 Falcon going. I've recased it in a Wizztronics case, and am using a new (to me) 4.5 gig IDE HD, HDDriver 7.71. I'm hopeing that my problem is that I've left some obvious, important piece of system software off the C partition. OK, I'm starting by adding as few things as possible, to limit what might be happening. At first, in 030 mode, I installed HDDriver and repartitioned the HD into 5 partitions. The auto folder only has HDDriver and WDialog.prg in it. At about this point, just for the heck of it, I tried the CT60 mode, got the color screen, and to the desktop. I think it froze closing a window, so I proceeded to update the flash the tos, abe, ect.. I used AB5K and SD5E. From the CT60 archive, I put the cache folder with cache off. prg and cache on.prg. in it on C, the CPX folder, and the updated xcontrol on C. When I first tried it in 060 mode, it did somthing like this on a white screen;
change cache... cache off MIPS flash 2.65 MIPS STRAM 1.61 MIPS SDRAM 8.18
change cache... cache on (all caches) MIPS flash 132.88 Mips STRAM 132.88 MIPS SDRAM 132.88
and it would keep doing this in an endless loop.
I would power off then on again, and sometimes got;
change cache
exception processing 2: Acces fault
Status Register (SR) $2704, bits to 1: S I2 I1 I0 Z..., (more stuff that ment nothing to me.)
Twice I got a page that had some sort of CT60 test page, that listed a bunch of tests, at the bottom saying something about ESC/ENTER to abort tests and go to this page. Right under that was about 7 or 8 digits, scrolling through numbers and letters. When I saw that, I was hopeful, and let it continue whatever it was doing. About 14 hours later I gave up on that and powered on and off again, getting some of the same results! Seeing all these cache comments made me wonder about the ram, although it was sold to me as 256 PC133 SDRAM, CL2, so it should be good!
Anyway, although I dislike displaying my ignorance, I am out of nessesity getting use to it! Can someone tell me what I've done wrong, or make a suggestion of what to try?
Thanks!
Wayne

What's the anti-troll code? That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
