That is preety touchy job. Best way are some thin pliers, since with those u dont stress the root of the pin, because pliers apply force from both sides. In any case, do not bend it much, try to fix bending on one go, do not "overbend" and then try to bend back, its easy to snap the pin that way... Wood or metal is not big issue, main problem is that material itself is very stressed at benting point already, and now we try to bend it back... Of course it also depends how much pins are bent..
But as said, its pesky job :(
