I strongly recommend the method 2 !
The F08 method allows to win some few nanoseconds for reads but reduce the writes by some few nano seconds too.
What is not cool for some SIMM !
The machine may be instable...depending of the temperature and it seems that some DSP accesses are perturbed by the ST-ram problems (I don't know how!)...
