As we constantly (on IRC) get the question how the CT60 is working, if we have any use for it, if there has been any progress the last five minutes, if X and Y works and if John Travolta uses SD4D or SD4F with his CT60, here's a short summary of the current status:

1. The CT60 that was sent out is still "beta" for the developers before the big batch is sent out. So that not everything works now is to be expected. The errors we have now are likely to be fixed for the final shipment!

2. The main two problems are either a CT60 that doesn't boot at all, doesn't even display an image. The second problem seems quite similary common and is about SDRAM memory modules. The CT60 doesn't seem to enjoy many types of memory. The first problem mentioned here is being invetigates, No/Escape is sending his Falcon-mobo along with ct60 so Czuba can analyze it properly. The second SDRAM-problem is being looked over, I'm waiting for a new DIMM module to test (similar DIMM to what Blind-IO uses and his SDRAM works!)

3. As said above, Blind-Io have got his CT60 with FastRam runnig fairly stable. He says he will never go back to standard Falcon again, it's a pain only for doing small works in standard modes, and this after just a couple of days use of the CT60 :-)

Now, this is the current status, big software testings etc have to wait until the SDRAM runs as expected (hopefully the new DIMM should fix it), also motherboard upgrades are not tested yet, but I will boost my board to 25MHz.

I hope this covers some of your questions, there will be updates on the BBS when bugs are fixed or things automagicly starts working.

Have a good day :)
