As far as I know, the brands that I suggested were good quality brands - at least, I've got them in systems that have extremely power hungry devices in them and I have had no problems.

In addition to the overall wattage rating, I always check the amperage on the 5v lines, as this is where people used to skimp - 28amps is a good cutoff point (the higher the better).

I like the modular types simply because you don't have to bundle up and try to tuck away all of the ones that aren't needed. I also try to make sure that the PSU has good cooling, usually two fans, and often with a speed control for the PSU fan(s).

It should be noted for those interested, that there is a Thermaltake PSU that has a power meter to display power usage in wattage.
