To play MP3's somewhat smoothly, you need the DSP for it. Whip uses the DSP as well. Direct collision so nope, that won't work.
However, Earx/Lineout VLM is different - I'm not sure if it uses the DSP at all, but it's only Earx who know that I suppose. For now, just connect a CD to the mic input and enjoy, or with Earx VLM - play some YM coolness and have effects to that :)
