Joe,
You really DO want to use the easymint installer. It can be a pain in the ass regarding the ext2 filesystem, I had loads of trouble because I wasnt doing exactly what the instructions said, plus there is a bit in the instructions that say that it will now boot into MiNT and you can continue the setup. Thats bolox. If you want a step by step email me: jan @ janthomas d0t org d0t uk and i'll take you through it.
