Hi, it's because Magic is multitasking and calculation time is shared with other programms running in the background simultanuously. If you run the benchmark under Magic in single mode, you will reach the original performance of the cpu. Maybe the speed of the used ram can influence this as well.
Don't kill me about this answer because I'm only a user without much knowledge of computer hardware, but this is an effect I can always reproduce when using Magic.
