Rodolphe, sorry to say this, but api's for CTPCI and Radeon drivers in current state aren't good enough to write something worthwile. I wrote a lot about this.
There are problems on R7000 with palette settings in 8 bit modes (maybe on other models too) and graphics card capabilities aren't exposed at all, so basically Radeon memory can be used to store a copy of framebuffer *only* which is a waste of hardware.
Burst mode isn't implemented yet, do you remember?
And if it comes about CTPCI/Firebee incompatibilities I'm not surprised, I doubt that Didier had time to test both branches (CTPCI & Firebee) and test their behaviour side by side. This is alot of work - testing changes and fixing bugs alone.
Personally I would like to write some new software with CTPCI support, but I doesn't want to fix broken drivers, because it is too much already (amount of free, unpaid time is pretty limited) and testing CTPCI software is time consuming too (I know it from patching SDL library).
Maybe CTPCI is great for GEM, but for software like games etc is in unfinished state. Someone has forgotten about developers I think. No good api's, no good software.
