Re: Boot 2.02 / Drivers 1.02 in progress

Nice work, Didier!

Some questions!

Q1: Have you made any significant changes to the console and/or the VDI?

Q2: Does CT60-TOS still decide the pixel format of the screen based on the location of the framebuffer, or have you fixed this issue?

Q3: I send you some sources which showed how you can replace the console text routines without replacing the console completely which you did in 1.04. Have you done this, or is the console still replaced by the EmuTOS console? I suspect that the alpha-text VDI functions are in such case routed to the wrong code (points to the built-in - and disabled - TOS-console), and also, this means that the XBIOS cannot properly change the pixel format of the console since your EmuTOS-based code doesn't respect the Line-A jump table used for drawing primitives. It would be a lot better if you reverted to the built-in TOS console and set up the pixel format through the LineA jump table instead, just like the XBIOS does. Please, I beg you to be open for discussion in this particular case, because it would be a real improvement. *** I'll send you a nice bottle of your favourite alcohol if we can reach some kind of agreement here *** :)

Thanks :)
