Uli, I'm using *external* version of Screenblaster III which works with any Falcon, I don't know about the internal version, but you should definitely try to install CT60 bus acceleration as well since it provides bus acceleration and not just Videl clocking.
Also, I'm using heavily HD recording software with CT60 and CT2 and they work perfectly in mono and 16 col modes @ 896x640 or even 1024x768 (but the refresh rate is poor) - those resolutions are very useful for tools windows as you said...:)
