My MagiC doesn't believe in your words. :-(
I did a clean install of MagiC 6.1 on my C: partition. It will boot in 030 mode. It wouldn't boot in 060 mode on videl unless I did apply the magic_p patch from the ct60_404 package. Now MagiC 6 also boots in 060 mode on videl, but _not_ with the TOS-internal booter, only with the magxboot.prg from the ct60_404 package.
Also, there are 2x 3 bombs in videl mode if I have fvdi active and the boot won't be successful.
In case I boot with the Radeon active, using the old magxboot.prg, MagiC will boot successfully but display is on the videl.
Using the TOS-internal loader with Radeon active, it will display the second boot screen (PCI device list, hddriver boot messages), but will then stall and not finish booting. In that case, boot.log is empty.

Errm... what would that mean? Hmmm... do I need to press CTRL-ALT-DEL when the boot screen is stalled? Trying... success! I've got MagiC on the Radeon!
Now I won't delete the above but rather keep it there to document the problems I've got.
My working configuration to boot MagiC now is:
TOS from may 8th, 2010 (standard, not the 1gig version)
AUTO-Folder:
magxboot.prg 23.03.2010 3689 byte
fvdi_040.prg 07.05.2010 361084 byte
ACCs: none
fvdi.sys: same as with MiNT setup
radeon.sys 03.05.2010 77329 byte
Boot sequence: execute Radeon BIOS, cancel memory test, boot MagiC from C: using the internal loader, perform a reset with CTRL-ALT-DEL once the boot process stalls.
