it shouldn't be a problem while you keep partitions below 2GB, i used successfully a 4 GB memory stick with 2 FAT16 partitions, 2 GB each.
Could you give me more information about your unsuccessful attempts? TOS, MiNT, or both? clock speed of your CT060? How many memory sticks did you try? Size of the partitions?
