Hello!

We have plans on making a small ethernet board that connects via a thin 1.27mm flat cable to the expansion/debug connector of the SuperVidel. The board may be mounted on the inside of the plastic case wherever you want.

What's special about this board is that it will not contain a full ethernet controller chip, instead only the ethernet PHY chip and the RJ45-connector with built-in magnetics. The ethernet "intelligence" is taken care of by an open-source ethernet controller inside the FPGA of the SuperVidel. We estimate this board to be much cheaper than the EtherNat for example. And at least as small as modern PCI ethernet cards, probably smaller.

/Henrik
