Well, let's see...

Yes, unless you want to get more low-level just for fun :)

> - CTPCI is not only for 100 people but for all CT users...this means really more than 100 ;-)

That's the story I heard through 3rd parties, that about that many people paid for their CTPCI. I'm sorry because I didn't clarify and I don't know if that's the case. Rodolphe, I hope there's not hard feelings regarding this.

> - CTPCI can fit inside Falcon case !
CTPCI is 2 boards : the CTPCI boart itself is fitting on the CT60/63 and it is ok in the falcon case... the second board is a dummy PCI slots board that can be where you want ! And you can cut it to keep only 1 or 2 slots by example !
> This means you can put a Radeon board in the falcon case ! Sure ! Replace floppy unit by a modern one (more thin unit) and down it a bit...put the HDD ON the floppy unit ! And you get the HDD place to put your PCI slots (2 is ok) + 2 PCI boards in H position !

So, let's summarize here. (also taking a look at this pic here: http://powerphenix.com/CTPCI/CT+CTPCI1.JPG) It is in fact possible to fit the CTPCI in the original case if:

a) I buy a slimline floppy
b) I do some mod to fit the floppy (which I presume will leave a gap on the side where the floppy is supposed to go)
c) I move the hd above the floppy (more mods)
d) I buy a 44pin to 40 IDE adapter for my 2.5" hard drive in order to connect it to the CTPCI IDE slot
e) I buy a Radeon card for video
f) I do what you mention regarding the H position of the cards (which I really don't get tbh)

Just writing the above (and I suspect there might be much more I have to do) suggest that I have to spend a few more euros after getting the CTPCI and investing a helluva lot of time making it all happen.

Now, here's the kicker: I'm very bad at doing these kinds of things: my hands are big and tremble, so even making a piss-easy soldering is a great deal of trouble for me. I wouldn't let myself near a motherboard and a soldering iron unless it's something I don't care about (say, the commodore line of computers ;)). So, knowing myself, I'll either damage the case badly or fry something on the Falcon!

Which leads me to the only viable solution of sending the Falcon and all relevant stuff to someone to do the job for me. Now, I have 2 people I think are up to the job, one is far far away and the other, while close to me, has his hands full due to real life stuff. And of course, if something happens in the future, I'm not sure I can fix it. So it means I'm bound to other people as well.

Now, couple all that with the fact that apart from the video, I'm not that interested in the rest of the CTPCI's features, the Radeon driver being only usable in Mint (someone correct me on this, again that's what I heard so far) and you conclude that the CTPCI is not a realistic solution for me :)
