I didn't know that raycasting was a technique also used in some tunnels (but I remember Evil telling me that such or such effect was nothing more than a tunnel fx routine that had been modified even tho in the end it didn't look at all like a tunnel).
That's for a traditional non-rotating tunnel, it's the same table based effect that you see in all sorts of deformation effects. The free-rotating tunnels are raycasting ones usually (some are of course polygon based as well).
Anohter raycaster would be in Stax EIL'99 demo(Rumpelkammer), the Wolf-3D like screen.
