Works fine in Steem 3.2 - for other emulators YMMV.

As for how it's possible.... from the results it's obvious that the shifter can accept resolution changes just about anywhere like it does with its other registers (for example video counters on the STE, which enable screen splits). So it would be a matter of finding a reference point in the first scanline and then count cycles and zap the resolution register at desired points for each scanline. "easy" :).
