As for the DSP reset bit... I think it at least does the cold reset. This forces the dsp to read bootstrap code from the host port. This is used by TOS and by Noring and NoBrain / NoCrew in their mp2 decoder: http://files.dhs.nu/files_coding/mp2_inc.zip
