I'm finding the available docs on the falcon sound system not that good somehow (mistakes, things left out etc etc) :/
Anyway, perhaps someone can help with this query concerning hardware register $ffff8921.w which controls DMA modes.
bits 0 and 1 control the playback frequency if in STe compatible mode, this is pretty straight forward and no problems here.
bit 7 allows to set the sound system in stereo (0) and mono (1) and bit 6 allows to set the sound system in 8bit (0) or 16bit (1).
according to some docus it should be possible to set mono 16bit mode like this:
%110000xx
except it doesn't ;))
i read in another doc that mono 16bit mode is not actually possible - and setting bit 6 of $ffff8921.w always gives a stereo mode.
can someone confirm this?
also, maybe someone knows a trustable falcon sound system docu? ;))
