VDI easter egg #2

As I posted some time ago, I've found that TOS4 has built-in support for 8-bit chunky and 32-bit truecolor. It's really fascinating that this has been there since 1992, yet never been used.

A test binary which can be used to prove all this can be found here:
http://www.shoggoth.st/vdihack.zip

The new modes can be accessed through the desktop resolution prefs dialog:
8-bit chunky: Select 640x480x1bpp
32-bit TC: Select 320x480x2bpp

On the 32-bit mode, I've patched the default palette to look normal despite the physical 16-bit resolutions.

In both cases, the physical screen runs in 640x480x16bpp. Do not attempt to try this on a real machine, since the code that sets the physical resolution is a hack which only works on Hatari.

I've also found the internal jump tables used for all drawing primitives, which makes it easier to add accelleration.

This means that the SuperVidel will use the original TOS-VDI for *all* modes by default. It can't get more real than that. No fVDI required!!!

What's the anti-troll code?
That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
