Well, if you manage to make a easymint installation, then you can choose to have it installed automatically during set-up.

Just download it from here: http://atari.st-katharina-apotheke.de/home.php?lang=en&headline=EasyMiNT&texte=easymint

Although this has a older version of gcc (2.95 I think), it should work out of the box.
