Spectrum 512 conversion
 
There are many tools to convert a truecolour image into Spectrum 512 such as Photochrome. However to make things as easy as possible for most folks, here's a simple online converter for you to use.


Browser based Javascript tool made by Percy of Light.
  1. Convert your image to 320*200 truecolour with your favourite graphics tool
  2. Save as 24-bit PNG
  3. Start Animas Retro Image tool
  4. Drag/drop your saved image to the image converter
  5. Set it up like (menus left to right):
    • Spectrum 512k/4k
    • 512 (ST)
    • Experiment with dither method
  6. Finally click save to output an SPU-file
