I knew this discussion would come, so here goes..
The special feature is not only about text articles, it can be a set of pictures, an mp3-album from some atari composer and so on. Stuff that doesn't fit in the news listing but still deserve exposure.
And about those times when there are articles - I'm not sure who said text material were exclusive for diskmags, I think the web is pretty good for reading text too :)
