Really, i don't know, but IT SEEMS the mouse is read from the hardware in the same way than the joystick, except for the buttons.
One nice thing possible is to manage 1 joystick and 3 keys without interrupts by sending non-stop 1 byte to the ACIA :
bit [0-3] = joystick direction
bit [4] = joystick button
bit [5-7] = 3 key states
Then read this states in $FFFFFCO2 like a basic keyboard test !
Nice for 1 player hardcore game :)
