Hi Leonard!
As far as I know, reading in this no-mans-land between ST-RAM-End and the bus error region at $400000 results in more or less "random" values. I.e. when you try to read it, you get the last real value that has been read over the bus, e.g. the last opcode that has been fetched or so.
