erm... texture mapper is (or should be) on dsp side, same for the textures (or some of them, the most used ones - floors, walls etc... this is the reason why is running such fast)

ct60 + 060 optimized doom = superfast doom, that one copy operation (chunky in fast ram to planar in st ram) doesn't slow down very much.
