Without wanting to criticize the Evolution and DHS guys, who I'm sure have put a lot of effort into this prod, I guess I can understand why people are a little disappointed with the first batch of Falcon060 demos. We've been looking forward to the CT60 for ages, and most sceners have been using Amiga060 demos as a reference point rather than Falcon030 ones.
But what we all too easily forget is that in order to make one of these 'killer' 060 demos, more effort has to be made than simply upgrading the processor. I have a really hard time recalling one single Falcon030 demo that featured decently texturemapped 3d objects for instance (not talking code, but gfx here!). If you look at good Amiga060 demos, however, you can see that a lot of rather low-poly scenes and objects are blessed with extremely skillful texturework, making these demos look way better than they actually are in a technical sense.
With all this in the back of my mind, I would like to congratulate Evolution and DHS for kicking out another nice Falcon060 prod this fast. Hopefully next time that 3d guy from Deez' office will be making his debut? :)
